Banyan Teammates receive
AOA Award

In 1998, FXE implemented the "Achievements in Community Excellence Awards" to recognize tenants, businesses, and individuals who have made exceptional efforts to comply with the Noise Abatement Program & Airport Safety.

Individuals who operate equipment on the AOA (Airport Operations Area) are required to attend training on airport safety. This training is repeated annually to ensure operators are aware of all safety procedures at the airport. In December, awards are presented to individuals that have operated on the AOA for a period of 5 years without an incident or runway incursion.

Banyan Adds Learjet 40 to Capabilities

Banyan has added the Learjet 40 series airframe to its list of capabilities and also added a second shift and nine additional technicians.

"Our on-going marketing research has shown a real need from the Learjet 40/45 community for another option other than the OEM for support in South Florida," said Paul Rose, Banyan’s v-p of technical sales.

Banyan is an FAA and EASA approved repair station and holds Venezuela, Argentina and Brazilian maintenance approvals.

Rockwell Collins Dealer
Advisory Board Meeting

The annual Rockwell Collins Dealer Advisory Board (DAB) meeting was recently held in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Banyan was represented by Brian Wilson, director of avionics, who has been on the DAB for almost 10 years. Rockwell Collins has close to 300 dealers nationwide, but they only invite 15 select dealers to this high level event.

The two day event covered many topics including existing products, sales promotions and new products coming in 2012. The annual DAB meeting provides feedback on new product functionality and pricing before a product comes to market. The collective response was business is good right now and there is a shared positive outlook for 2012.

Wings of Freedom Tour
February 3 - 6, 2012

Flying to Banyan is the Collings Foundation’s WINGS OF FREEDOM TOUR. Participating in this event are the:

• Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress “Nine O Nine” WWII Heavy Bomber
• Consolidated B-24 Liberator “Witchcraft” WWII Heavy Bomber
• P-51 Mustang

Fly in the B-17 or B-24 for a 30-minute flight for only $425 per person. Full hour and half hour rides are also available for the P-51 Mustang fighter. Walk-through tours are also available at $12 for adults and $6 for children under 12.
