Banyan is proud to offer installation services for the Garmin GTN series which is certified and approved for installation in a variety of makes and models of general aviation aircraft.
This next evolution in avionics is the Garmin GTN series which offers easy to use improved operating systems. The GTN 700 series combines GPS/Nav/Comm duties with touchscreen controls providing a seamless cockpit integration and MFD capabilities. The GTN offers a top of the line touchscreen interface, high resolution screen, new operating systems and the added option for remote transponder and audio controls with clearance recorder, advanced auto squelch and more. Use the GMA 35 and a GTX™ 32/33 remote transponder to save up to 3 inches of panel space versus a typical GNS 430/530 install.
GTN 750 - Touchscreen Controls
The Garmin GTN 750 is 98 percent larger than its predecessor the GNS530, with the GTN 750's revolutionary new touchscreen interface, you're rarely more than two taps away for all the system's primary functions putting a wealth of flight information right at your fingertips. Data entry on the larger 700 series is easier than ever, simply swipe your finger across the map screen to quickly pan across or enter waypoint data with the full onscreen keypad. The GTN even provides stabilizing grips to make input data easier during turbulent weather. Combined with the optional remote audio panel GMA 35 it allows users to take advantage of features such as split com, music input and selective muting for intercom stations that put the GTN 750 in a class of its own.
GTN 650 - Touchscreen Controls
The GTN 650 provides the same features as the GTN 750 but is optimized in a smaller unit to conserve space; the GTN 650 is perfect for pilots who want a fully integrated solution in a small package. The GTN 650 is 53 percent larger than its predecessor the GNS430 and like the GTN 750 it combines GPS, COMM and NAV functions. Data entry has also been optimized to take full advantage of the screen by displaying numbers and letters in sequence. The traditional controllers are now controlled by just the touch of the finger.
Communication
A fully certified 2,280-channel VHF communications transceiver provides a standard 10 W (or optional 16 W) of power output. The system is pilot-selectable to both 25 kHz and 8.33 kHz channel spacing. With the GTN units, you can set your standby Com frequency simply by touching the onscreen number pad. You can easily switch from active to standby frequencies with a simple touch of the finger. The GTN units program in your recent and favorite frequencies making them simple to access.
Simplified Navigation
The GTN family makes it easier than ever to get where you're going. Graphical flight planning capabilities allow you to preview the entire route on the map screen and quickly enter and modify new and existing waypoints. The GTN allows you to enter your most recently visited or nearby airports as waypoints and "Direct To" destinations. The GTN 700 series with the built-in MFD features provides Garmin FliteCharts™ or optional Jeppesen®-style geo-referenced ChartView™, providing you with approach plates and procedures, while Garmin SafeTaxi® lets you see geo-reference runways, taxiways, FBOs and hangars.
In IFR conditions, you now have more landing options. The SBAS/WAAS-certified, 15-channel GPS receiver generates five position updates per second, enabling you to fly GPS-guided LPV glidepath instrument approaches down to as low as 200 ft. The system includes a complete VHF navigation capabilities package with a 200-channel VOR/ILS with localizer and glidescope.
Terrain
Pre-loaded into the GTN is a diverse color-coded terrain and obstacle database providing the pilot with obstacles and altitude in relation to the aircraft right on the screen. The information can be overlaid onto the moving map display. GTN also comes with obstacle TAWS-B alerts providing visual and audible alerts (if optional class B TWAS is enabled).
Satellite Weather
Couple the system with a GDL™ 69 series datalink receiver and XM® subscription, with a simple touch you can overlay NEXRAD radar right onto your moving map display and receive satellite music.
Traffic
Identifying potential traffic threats with the Garmin traffic system (sold separately) has never been easier. The system provides audio and visual alerts and has a dedicated traffic page that shows near-by aircraft on a uncluttered display.
